Frequently asked questions about our nutrition coaching

How does private coaching work?

Your first appointment will be a 90-minute intake, which will include a comprehensive review of your health history, lifestyle and diet, and an initial action plan. Download your intake forms here.

Following your initial intake, we will schedule a series of 60-minute follow-up appointments.
Together we will continue to modify your action plan as needed to reach your goals. Recipes, meal ideas, lifestyle hacks, and mindfulness how-to advice are offered at every appointment.

We offer 4- and 6-session packages. Appointments may be conducted in-person or via Skype.

What is the structure of appointments?

After your initial intake appointment, we recommend follow-up appointments every 2-4 weeks. Regular appointments provide accountability to help you stay on track and allow us to amend your plan based on how your body is responding. We believe in implementing small, attainable changes so that your plan is not overwhelming. In the beginning, we may meet every 2 weeks as we’re building your plan. As time goes on, we’ll space them out further.

What happens at appointments?

At your appointments, we’ll discuss your goals, health history, and current symptoms, along with your lifestyle and habits related to sleep, stress and daily environments. We provide education about your body, how it got to this place and how to rebalance it. We like to draw diagrams and use charts and pictures to explain what’s going on. You’ll leave with clear action items. At your follow-up appointments, we check on those action items to determine what’s working and what’s not. We continue to tweak your plan, and gather more info with testing as needed, until you reach your goals.

How many appointments will I need?

The number of appointments required is hard to estimate. It depends on your goals and your body — the complexities of imbalances and how quickly your body responds to your plan. Some folks get what they need and feel better in 4 sessions, for others it takes 12 to 24 months. Remember that it likely took years for your body to become imbalanced, so healing and unraveling those challenges with functional and holistic nutrition — which delves into the root cause — can take a little while.

We do not take insurance. If nutrition services were recommended by your doctor, you may be able to use your HSA or FSA card for appointments, supplements and lab costs. Please ask your doctor.

What is your appointment cancellation policy?

Please be mindful that we have a 24-hour cancellation policy.

For New Clients’ First Appointment: when booking your first appointment, we require a credit card to reserve your spot (this can be taken over the phone when booking or through our online scheduling software). If you cancel with less than 24 hours’ notice or miss your appointment, you will be charged $50. However, we understand that special circumstances happen and we’d love for you to reschedule! If you reschedule within 30 days we’ll apply the $50 to your first appointment fee.

For Existing Clients’ Follow Up Appointments: Barring an emergency, if you cancel or miss your appointment with less than 24 hours’ notice, you will be charged for the appointment or that appointment will be counted towards your package.

Have more questions?

If you have further questions not addressed here, we invite you to set up a Meet & Greet appointment so we can discuss further. We look forward to meeting you and helping you feel vibrant again!
